ADA, Ohio - The Adrian College men's wrestling team sent 13 members to today's Ohio Northern University Invitational. Adrian finished eighth among the 16 participating teams on the day.
The Bulldogs best performer was freshman Angus Arthur who placed first in 197 lbs. weight class. Arthur's performance was spectacular as he went 5-0 on the day. He finished the day with a technical fall decision (16-1), a major decision (14-3), and two pins. Arthur won his bracket with a pin at the 6:51 mark. Arthur was also named the tournament's most outstanding wrestler.
Four other Bulldogs finished in the top ten. Freshman Austin Eldred finished sixth in the 133 lbs. weight class with a 3-2 record on the day. Freshman Trenton Roesly finished seventh in the 141 lbs. weight class with a record of.
Two Bulldogs finished second as Joey Dombrowski and Donny Mandell were the runners up in the 133 lbs. weight class and the 165 lbs. weight class, respectively.
Adrian will wrap up the fall semester schedule on Friday when the Bulldogs travel to Chicago to compete in the North Central College Invitational.
