Bulldogs Skip Past Scots 6-3

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's tennis team won for the second straight day with a 6-3 triumph over Alma College on Friday. The Bulldogs returned to MIAA conference play after a win over Ursuline yesterday and improved to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the league.

The Bulldogs grabbed a 2-1 lead by winning the second and third doubles matches. Morgan Spencer and Kylee Bezeau had the victory at two doubles while Justine Hanson and Victoria Watson won at three doubles. Both tandems won 8-4 for the Bulldogs.

"The women's tennis team played with passion and 100% effort," said head coach Maxim Sukalo. "They demonstrated our program standards today and their positive energy emanated from doubles to singles."

The Bulldogs lost the first two singles matches in straight sets but won the final four singles matches to record the win. The trio of Spencer, Hanson and McKenzie Krieg each won 6-1, 6-0 over their opponent for Adrian. Bezeau had to go to three sets after dropping the first one 6-2. She then rallied for a 6-3, 10-7 comeback at four singles against Paige Pontious.
