ALMA, Mich.--The Adrian College men's wrestling team held its own Saturday at the NCAA Division I-dominated Alma College in Art Smith Arena, where over 150 wrestlers from 16 colleges and universities participated. There were no team scores kept.
Freshman Trenton Roesly (pictured, right) paced the Bulldogs with a fifth-place finish at 141 pounds, winning by forfeit over Da'Vion Williams from NAIA-scholarship Indiana Tech.
Classmate James Davis (pictured, below) proved his mettle against his Division I opponent Norman Conley out of Indiana University in a 184-lb. bout. Conley was able to eke out a 4-2 decision for the win and Davis took sixth place.
Adrian hits the mat again next weekend (Friday-Saturday) at the prestigious Pete Willson Invitational hosted by Wheaton (Ill.) College outside ChicagoLand.
