ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College men's tennis team began the second half of its 2015-16 season with a resounding 7-2 non-conference win Friday over visiting Spring Arbor University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Adrian took a 3-0 lead after the doubles round before starting singles.
= The Bulldogs took four of six singles matches to clinch the victory and even their season's record to .500.
= Junior Joey Loselle, sophomores Mitchel Bulger, Jonathon Rhind, Jeff Sophiea all were double winners to lead Adrian.

BEYOND THE BASELINE
= Adrian has now defeated Spring Arbor in each of the past three years.
= At No. 1 doubles, Adrian's Michael Mertz/Joey Loselle trailed 3-1 and 6-3 before storming back to win 9-8 (10-8 in the tiebreaker).
= Despite high temperatures reaching above 60 degrees here, today's match was scheduled to be played indoors from the beginning to allow courts at on-campus Craft Tennis Complex to dry. The Bulldogs have used the MSFC for competition in past years.
THE OPPOSITION
= Nick Romano and Vincent McShane picked up the Cougars' two points on the afternoon, winning singles matches at No. 2 and No. 5, respectively.
= As a member of the NAIA-affiliated Crossroads League, Spring Arbor grants athletic scholarships in the sport of men's tennis.

= Adrian will embark on its spring break trip to Orlando, Fla., next weekend, starting competition in the Sunshine State on Sunday, Feb. 28, against vs. Saint Mary's (Minn.) at 5 p.m.
