Box Score ADRIAN, Mich.--Senior Doug Boyd scored a game-high four goals and the Adrian College offense went 4-for-7 in man-up, but it wasn't enough as visiting Messiah College led wire-to-wire in a 16-9 non-conference men's lacrosse win on Saturday.

FOR ADRIAN
= Senior Jake Waldrup registered a hat trick and four points.
= Boyd added two assists for a team-best six points.
= Senior starting goalkeeper Brett Farrelly made 15 saves--several from close range--to help keep the Bulldogs in the game.
= Senior Dan Hudson had five ground balls and two turnovers.
= Freshman Conor Redden also scored for the Bulldogs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Messiah won the opening face-off and kept possession before scoring on the second shot of the game 1 minute and 48 seconds in. The first shot hit the post.
= The Falcons led 4-0 after the first quarter and 7-2 at halftime.
= Sophomore Michael Turner put the Bulldogs on the scoreboard to open the second quarter 28 seconds in, making it 4-1 Messiah.
= Messiah also led in shots (43-24), face-offs (20-6) and ground balls (44-27).
THE OPPOSITION
= Tyler Goglio led the Falcons with five assists and a game-best seven points.
= Dylan Gillisse added a hat trick.
= Matt Kontyko and Chris Ruger had game highs of seven and six ground balls, respectively.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Farrelly now has 89 saves on the season, moving within four of the lead in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. One of his best saves came late in the second half when Messiah broke the AC defense near midfield and an attacker came in on Farrelly uncontested, but he made a kick save.
= This marked the first meeting between the schools.
= Adrian scored four times in seven man-up opportunities for a 57.1 percent efficiency--both season highs.

= Adrian continues non-conference action on Tuesday at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Opening face-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
