DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Bulldog softball team lost both games in a double header at Defiance College today 5-3 and 8-3. The losses put Adrian at 1-4 for the season.

ADRIAN HITTING

- Four Adrian bats earned two hits in game 1

- K'ya Toles-Burton hit a Home Run at the top of the fifth that cut the Defiance lead to 3-1

- Taylor Van't Land singled, scoring Payge Reed to bring Adrian within one run of the Yellow Jackets

- Rebecca Greco hit a double that allowed Jessica Sarch to score to finish the scoring for the game for Adrian

- Sarch hit a double in the second game that scored one runner for the Bulldogs

- Greco also hit a double that scored a run for Adrian

- Morgan Brandt recorded a single that scored the first run of the second game for the Bulldogs

GAME 1: ADRIAN PITCHING

- Kelsey Meyer got the start at pitcher for the first game of the day

- Meyer pitched six innings, faced 27 hitters and recorded two strikeouts

- She gave up three earned runs, four hits and one home run

- Kaitlin Lock started at pitcher for the second game

- She pitched four innings, giving up five earned runs and one home run

- Lock faced 22 batters and tallied six strikeouts

- Rebecca Neal came on in relief of Lock, pitching 1.2 innings

- She faced eight batters and gave up three earned runs on two hits and a home run

DEFIANCE HITTING

- The Yellow Jackets scored five runs on four hits in the first game

- Megan Pleskovic hit a double and Megan Warren hit a two run home run at the bottom of the fifth

- Emily Denhard hit a single in the bottom half of the third that scored the first run of the game

- Warren had three hits in the second game (one home run, one triple and one single)

- She also tallied four RBIs for Defiance in game two

- Kaity Kuhn had one hit and two RBIs in the second game as well

DEFIANCE PITCHING

- Sarah Kaya pitched seven innings for Defiance

- She faced 31 batters and recorded four strikeouts and giving up three earned runs, 12 hits and one home run

- Jamie Kimbler got the start for game two

- She pitched 4.1 innings, facing 21 batters and gave up eight hits and three earned runs

- Sydni Smith came on in relief and pitched 2.2 innings, facing seven batters and recording a strikeout
