ADRIAN, Mich.--Host Adrian College did not lose a set to breeze by the Trine Thunder, 9-0, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's tennis match on Wednesday at the Craft Tennis Complex. The Bulldogs, who have won eight of their last 10 matches, improve to 11-6 on the season and 4-0 atop the MIAA standings, while the visitors fall to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Reigning MIAA Player of the Week senior Michael Mertz paved the way for Adrian with a No. 2 singles win over Victor Flynn, 6-2, 6-2, and No. 1 doubles triumph with junior Joey Loselle against Flynn and Judson Quinn, 8-3.
Loselle also was victorious at No. 1 singles versus Quinn, 6-1, 6-0.
Other Bulldogs who won two matches on the afternoon were sophomores Mitchel Bulger, Brandon Brom, Jeff Sophiea, Jon Rhind.
Mertz has won seven singles matches in a row and improves to 14-2 in 2015-16, which are both Bulldog bests at the moment.
The Bulldogs are believed to be 4-0 in the MIAA for the first time.
