Hornets Hitters Too Much for Bulldogs, Win Both Games of Doubleheader

ADRIAN, Mich. - Kalamazoo bats too much for the Bulldog defense as the Hornets pull out two victories against Adrian on Friday (April22).

Final Scores: Adrian 2, Kalamazoo 7 (8) - Game one; Kalamazoo 6, Adrian 2 - Game two

ADRIAN HITTING

Game One

K'ya Toles-Burton (2-for-3) had two hits (2B, single) and both RBIs to lead the Bulldogs

Jessica Sarch, Adrian's leading hitter coming into the day, struggled in game one going 0-for-4 at the plate

Game Two

Rebecca Greco (2-for-2) led the Bulldogs with two hits (2B, 2B)

• Sarch went 0-for-4 again in the second, however she did score the first run of the game when she made it to first base on a passed ball off a strikeout

Macy Laws (1-for-3) recorded the only RBI for Adrian

ADRIAN PITCHING

Game One

Kelsey Meyer started in the circle for the Bulldogs, pitching the first seven innings

• She faced 34 batters, striking out two, and allowed 10 hits and four runs (three earned)

Paige Cubberly (L, 0-2) received the loss for game one in relief, facing two batters and giving up one hit and two runs (both earned)

Game Two

Kaitlin Lock (L, 3-7) got the start for Adrian in game two

• She faced 24 batters, striking out three and surrendered 11 hits, five runs (four earned) and a home run

Payge Reed releived Lock for the final 1.2 innings of the game

• She faced seven batters, struck out one and gave up one hit and one run (none earned)

KALAMAZOO HITTING

Game One

• Erin DuRoss (3-for-5) and Nori Seita (3-for-5) led the Hornets with three hits each

• Seita and Andrea MacMichael (2-for-5) had a team high two RBIs

Game Two

• Dana Page (3-for-3) and Megan Malish (3-for-3) led Kalamazoo with three hits each

• Malish hit two doubles and recorded an RBI

• Paige Maguire (1-for-4) hit a home run

KALAMAZOO PITCHING

Game One

• DuRoss (W, 4-9) got the start at pitcher for Kalamazoo and pitched all 8 innings

• She faced 31 batters, striking out six and gave up six hits and two runs (both earned)

Game Two

• Nori Seita (W, 2-2) pitched the complete game for the Hornets

• She faced 28 batters, striking three batters, and allowed six hits and two runs (one earned)
