Women's Tennis Falls to Calvin College, 9-0, in Home Finale on Friday

ADRIAN, Mich.--Visiting Calvin College spoiled the home finale on Senior Day for the Adrian College women's tennis team, as the Knights blanked the Bulldogs, 9-0, at the AC Craft Tennis Complex on Friday. Calvin improves to 11-6 overall and 4-2 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, while Adrian falls to 9-10 on the season and 2-4 in the MIAA.

Senior Arielle Williams gave a tough battle at No. 1 singles for the Bulldogs, but lost to Ellie Benzel 7-5 and 6-4. Classmate Morgan Spencer fell to Jessica Bouma, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles.

In No. 4 singles, Micaela Seazzu defeated Adrian sophomore Amber Laginess, 6-4, 6-4. Laginess sees her 14-match win streak snapped in singles, losing for the first time in 11 outings at No. 4. She is now 16-2 overall.

Adrian, which has lost back-to-back MIAA matches for the first time this season, hits the road this weekend to close the regular season at conference members Hope on Saturday (2:30 p.m.) and Kalamazoo on Sunday (2 p.m.).
