ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College softball team split in the doubleheader against Calvin at the AC Softball Field on Saturday winning game one 4-3 and losing the second game 4-3.

ADRIAN HITTING

Game One

• K'ya Toles-Burton (1-for-2) hit a home run over the center field wall in the bottom of the 5th inning to cut the Calvin lead in half, 2-1

• Karissa DeVore (1-for-2) singled down the right field line to score Morgan Brandt and tie the game

• Adrian would score two more runs in the bottom of the 6th to take a 4-2 lead into the final inning of the game

Game Two

•  Toles-Burton (2-for-3) led the Bulldogs with two hits and one RBI

• Casey Cribbs (1-for-3) and DeVore (1-for-3) had one RBI

ADRIAN PITCHING

Game One

• Kelsey Meyer (W, 7-7) pitched all seven innings for Adrian

• She faced 31 batters, striking out three and allowed eight hits, three runs (all earned) and one home run

Game Two

• Kaitlin Lock started in the circle for game two

• She faced 18 batters and gave up seven hits, three runs (two earned) and one home run

• Payge Reed (L, 0-1) pitched 2.2 innings in relief, facing 12 batters and giving up one run (zero earned) and no hits

CALVIN HITTING

Game One

• Lydia Gildea (2-for-4) had a team high two hits (single, HR) and one RBI

Game Two

• Gildea (2-for-3) led the team for the second game as well with two hits

CALVIN PITCHING

Game One

• Anna Gernant (L, 12-8) pitched all 6 innings for the Knights

• She faced 27 batters, striking out 11 and surrendered six hits, four runs (two earned) and one home run

Game Two

• Paige Groom started at pitcher for the Knights

• She faced 25 batters and surrendered six hits and three runs (all earned)

• Gernant (W, 13-8) pitched 1.2 innings in relief and faced five batters, striking out two, to earn the win for Calvin
