Box Score GRANTHAM, Pa.--Adrian College freshman Griffin Davison led all scorers with four goals, but host Messiah College employed a balanced offense to defeat the Bulldogs, 20-6, in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday.

= Senior Cody Schmitt posted a season- and game-best seven ground balls and he caused two turnovers.
= Junior Michael Turner led all student-athletes with three assists among four points.
= Classmate Michael Desmadryl had a career-high three caused turnovers to lead all players.
THE OPPOSITION
= Matthew Franken and Dylan Gillisse both had three goals and two assists.
= Liam Lilienthal (2g, 2a) and Ian Olson had five ground balls apiece.
= Isaac Zorn dominated the face-off "X", winning nine of 12 attempts. Olson went 9-for-13.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Messiah outshot Adrian 19-2 in the first quarter en route to a commanding 9-1 advantage after the first quarter.
= Adrian was unable to get on track early, committing seven turnovers in its first eight possessions as Messiah took advantage with the quick lead.
= Eleven Falcons found the back of the cage and seven had at least two goals. Fourteen different players registered at least one point.
= Messiah also held the advantages in shots (54-15), face-off wins (20-10) and ground balls (52-28).
= The Falcons led 14-1 at halftime and outscored Adrian in the second half by a slim 6-5 margin.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= The Falcons defeated the Bulldogs, 16-9, in Adrian last season in the schools' only previous meeting.
= Goalie Brett Farrelly had seven saves to give him 382 for his career. That ranks second on the Adrian all-time list (486 by Kevin Lerg, 2011-14).
= With two more caused turnovers, Schmitt extends his Bulldog all-time record to 87.
= Davison leads the Bulldogs with seven goals in his first two collegiate games, and his eight points are second only to Turner (team-best eight assists) with nine.
= Adrian did not commit a single penalty that resulted in a man-up situation for Messiah.
