BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Adrian College softball team lost 15-12 and 3-0 in a doubleheader at Bluffton on Friday afternoon.  Paige Cubberly went 4-for-5 and recorded two RBIs in game one. She was 1-for-3 in game two in the losing effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Bluffton scored four runs in the first, three in the third, five in the fourth, and three in the sixth to win 15-12 in game one. 

• Adrian had a big third inning, scoring nine runs, but fell just short in game one. 

• Ashley Lenington (2-5), Jaime Lightner (3-3), Taylor Van't Land (3-5), Chelsea Shellman (2-5), Phoebe Cole (2-4), and Cubberly all had at lead two hits for the Bulldogs.

• Lenington (1-3), Cubberly (1-3), Kyleen Wilson (1-3), and Krista Lynch (1-3) each had one hit for Adrian in game two.

• The Beavers used a three-run second inning to pull out a close 3-0 win.

UP NEXT

• The Bulldogs are set to play a doubleheader at home on Sunday against Ohio Wesleyan with game one starting at 1:00 p.m. and game two starting around 3:00 p.m. or shortly after the first game.
