@Dawgs_Tennis Cruises Past Host Alma College in MIAA Men's Action on Sunday, 9-0

ALMA, Mich.--The Adrian College men's tennis team improved to 2-0 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association with an easy 9-0 win at Alma College on Sunday at the Superior Street Tennis Complex.

The Bulldogs are now 10-5 overall after their second-straight win while the host Scots fall to 4-9 on the season and 0-3 in the MIAA. This match was originally scheduled to be played on Wednesday, but got pushed back to today due to cold, windy conditions.

Senior Joey Loselle and junior Brandon Brom at No. 1 doubles and first two singles positions combined for three points to pace the Bulldogs. As a tandem, they defeated Luke Van Fleet / Brett Reuter, 8-2. Loselle beat Grant Hill at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-0, while Brom prevailed over Van Fleet in a tough No. 2 singles bout, 7-6 (2), 7-5.

Freshman Tanner Wilcox and junior Jeff Sophiea won three-set thrillers in singles at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.

And wrapping up the Bulldogs scoring in singles were freshman Nathan Waterbury at No. 5 over Noah Ackerman, 6-4, 6-1, and classmate Kyle Haines at No. 6 over Brett Reuter, 6-0, 6-0.

Adrian will start a three-match MIAA homestand on Monday against Hope College. Action at the Craft Tennis Complex is expected to start at 4 p.m.
