ELMHURST, Ill.--The Adrian College men's wrestling squad scored 31.5 points to place 11th out of 12 teams competing at the Al Hanke Invitational hosted by Elmhurst University on Saturday.
Senior co-captain Zach Rieger and freshman Noah Nieman paced the Bulldogs' cause. Rieger was the 285-pound champion while Nieman claimed fourth place at 149.
Rieger defeated Emonte Logan of North Central College in the title bout, 4-2, to cap a 4-0 afternoon. Nieman lost his opening match but bounced back to win four straight matches.
Host Elmhurst edged fellow NCAA Division III nationally-ranked opponent North Central-Illinois for the team title, 117.5 to 105.5 points.
