Brayden Adrian Leads All Scorers with Career-High Eight Points in Overtime Loss at Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio--Adrian College sophomore newcomer Brayden Adrian pumped career highs of six goals and eight total points to lead all scorers, but Zac Chucta tallied the game-winning goal, unassisted, with 2 minutes and 55 seconds remaining in overtime to lift host Wilmington College to a 15-14 men's lacrosse non-conference victory on Saturday.

TOP 'DAWGS
= Adrian's six goals and eight points also are season highs by a Bulldog student-athlete.

= Senior Michael Turner (5 points) and freshman Fernando Rodriguez (4 points) also recorded hat tricks.

= Senior goalie Peter Dugan made 15 saves to keep Adrian close.

= Classmate Michael Desmadryl had one more caused turnover (5) than Wilmington had as a team (4).

= Senior Greg Stewart chipped in four ground balls and two caused turnovers on defense.

THE OPPOSITION
= Jhordan Lang led the Quakers with four goals and three assists.

= Zac Chucta finished with three goals and two assists.

= Andrew Miller also had a hat trick among four points.

= Tanner Diment added two goals, three points while leading all student-athletes with 17 ground balls and 23 face-off wins in 29 attempts in the "X."

= Jake Ladendorf had 12 stops in goal. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Diment won the face-off to open the four-minute extra-session and picked up the corresponding ground ball. Wilmington worked some offense and 65 seconds later Chucta ended it with his third goal of the afternoon.

= The Bulldogs forced overtime when Adrian scored unassisted with 98 seconds left in regulation, after Miller and Diment scored six seconds apart for a 14-13 Quakers lead.

= In the fourth quarter, Adrian turned a 12-10 deficit into a 13-12 advantage with 8:34 to go. Turner, Adrian and Stewart gave the visitors their last lead.

= Adrian closed the third quarter scoring with 17 seconds left to give the Bulldogs a 10-9 lead for their first of the afternoon.

= Trailing 7-2 in the second quarter, the Bulldogs went on a 5-0 scoring run into the third sparked by man-up goals by Turner, Rodriquez and freshman Kyle Sanderson and a man-down goal from Turner.

= The Quakers scored two of the next three goals to go up 9-8 at 2:02 of the third quarter. 

= Adrian recorded what may be a school record for the fastest consecutive goals when he scored two in three seconds to close the first quarter, bringing the Bulldogs within 4-2.

= Lang scored three of the game's first four goals as Wilmington darted ahead 4-0 after the first 7:42 off the clock.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= Wilmington leads the all-time series 2-0.

= Desmadryl passed Brandon Parnham (35 from 2012-15) for eighth place on the AC all-time caused turnovers chart. He now has 36--two shy of moving into a seventh-place tie.

= The eight points by Adrian are two shy of tying the single-game record in Bulldogs history.
