Nationally-Ranked Kalamazoo College Stings Bulldogs in MIAA Action, 9-0

ADRIAN, Mich.--Kalamazoo College, the nation's 30th-ranked team in NCAA Division III according to Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Top-40 poll, swept doubles and singles to defeat host Adrian College, 9-0, in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's action at the Craft Tennis Complex on Wednesday. 

The Hornets improve to 12-6 on the season and 6-0 in the MIAA, while the Bulldogs see their season's best four-match winning streak come to an end to drop to 8-8 overall--4-2 in the conference.

Senior Jeff Sophiea and sophomore Nathan Waterbury teamed up to take 12 games in singles and double combined to lead Adrian. Sophiea and Waterbury paired for No. 2 doubles where they fell to Allen Vinson / R. DelOlmo-Parrado, 8-4. In No. 2 singles, Sophiea battled Daniel Henry in a 6-3, 6-3 loss. In No. 4 singles, Waterbury was downed by Vinson, 6-0, 6-2.

Tytus Metzler led Kzoo with two points in victories at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles.

The Bulldogs wrap up the MIAA regular-season at Calvin College on Friday, starting at 4 p.m.
