Box Score 1 ADRIAN, MICH. -- The Adrian College softball team split with Alma in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs edged out the Scots 5-4 in the first game. Alma used a six-run 5th-inning to win game two 10-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One: Adrian def. Alma, 5-4
Alma scored two runs in both the 3rd- and 4th-inning to take a 4-0 lead over the Adrian in game one. The Bulldogs would rally in the bottom of the 5th-inning when Lindsey Branscum (Clinton, Mich.) hit an RBI-single to right field that scored Jamie Bell (Lake Orion, Mich.) to give Adrian its first run of the game. Natalia Younan (Windsor, Ontario) scored off an Alma error to cut the Scot lead in half, 4-2. Kyleen Wilson (Windsor, Ontario) blasted a three-run homer to right center that gave Adrian the 5-4 lead.
Game Two: Alma def. Adrian 10-2 (5 innings)
The Scots scored four runs in the 4th-inning for a 4-0 lead. Phoebe Cole (Southgate, Mich.) tallied an RBI-groundout that scored Taylor Van't Land (Clarksville, Mich.) and cut the deficit to three runs (4-1). D. Rogers scored on a wild pitch to cut the Alma lead to two runs before the final out.
The game was ended abruptly with a grand slam by the Scot's Kaylee Martin followed an RBI single to put Alma up 9-2 in the bottom of the 5th-inning. Erin Lee singled up the middle to score Riley Terwiliger to end the game with a 10-2 decision.
ADRIAN HITTING
Game One
• Jamie Bell (1-for-3, R), Lindsey Branscum (1-for-1, R, RBI), Kyleen Wilson (1-for-1, R, 3 RBI), and Destiny Rogers (Sand Creek, Mich.) (1-for-3) each tallied a hit for the Bulldogs in the first game.
• Wilson's three RBIs led all athletes in that category.
Game Two
• Jamie Bell (1-for-3) and Taylor Van't Land (1-for-2, R) were the only two Bulldogs to record a hit in the game.
• Phoebe Cole (0-for-2) tallied the lone Adrian RBI.
ADRIAN PITCHING
Game One
• Rebecca Neal (Waterford, Twp., Mich.) (W, 9-7) pitched her 11th complete game of the year. She allowed seven hits, four runs (2 ER), and struck out one batter in the win.
Game Two
• Paige Cubberly (Toledo, Ohio) (L, 2-6) started in the circle for Adrian. She pitched 4.1 innings and allowed eight hits, nine runs (6 ER), and struck out two Scots.
• Emily Baldus (Saline, Mich.) allowed two hits and a run (0 ER) in relief.
ALMA HITTING
Game One
• Bry Chapman led the Scots with two hits, two RBIs, and two runs in the game. Madyson Piche also registered two hits.
Game Two
• McKenzie Creed, Kaylee Martin, and Katie McClure each led the Scots with two hits.
• Martin tallied a game-high five RBIs and scored two runs.
ALMA PITCHING
Game One
• Katie McClure (L, 6-6) pitched 6.0 innings for the Scots. She allowed four hits, five runs (1 ER), and struck out 10 Bulldogs in the losing effort.
Game Two
• Mary Brooks (W, 9-4) pitched all five innings while allowing two hits, two runs, and striking out one Adrian bat.
