SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Adrian College men's tennis team lost a road contest to Spring Arbor University on Monday, March 25. Three singles matches went to a tie-break but the Bulldogs fell to the Cougars 9-0.
Two doubles pairings had strong performances in losing efforts, with the top flight of juniors Tanner Wilcox and Nathan Waterbury losing 6-8 and the three doubles pairing of junior Nolan Duda and sophomore Ronald Ducharme falling 5-8.
Wilcox was one of the three singles matches to need a third-set tiebreaker, as the junior fell 6-4, 2-6, 4-10. Fellow junior Kyle Haines also won his first set 6-4, but then lost the second and the tiebreaker, with a final match scoreline of 6-4, 3-6, 6-10 in the four spot. The other singles match to need a third set was the five slot where freshman Cameron Rafinski fell 4-6, 6-4, 5-10.
Adrian has its spring home opener this Friday, March 29 when Trine comes to town. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
