ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's tennis team got back on track after yesterday's loss, picking up its eighth win of the year and improving to 4-2 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 9-0 victory over Olivet College on Sunday, April 14. AC has been on a roll since the start of conference play, winning five of its last seven matches.

The match was originally scheduled to be played outdoors at noon with the women's match but steady rain forced the teams inside, with the match played in the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center upon the conclusion of the women's match, also a 9-0 victory for the Bulldogs.

Only two of the doubles matches were played as Olivet didn't have enough players to fill all six spots. Both of the matches were 8-2 wins for the Bulldogs, with juniors Nathan Waterbury and Tanner Wilcox getting the win at the top spot and sophomore Ronald Ducharme and freshman Cameron Rafinski doing the same at the two spot.

Wilcox continued to roll in singles action, picking up a pair of 6-0 set wins to cruise to a victory at the two spot. Waterbury also had little trouble, winning both sets 6-1, 6-1 at the top spot and sophomore Jovanni Wagner-Payne won 6-1, 6-2 at three singles. Only two more singles matches were played, with the Comets forfeiting the six spot, and the Black and Gold won both with only one game not going its way in each match. It was a pair of freshmen getting the chance to finish things out, with Anthony Cardamone winning 6-1, 6-0 before Adam Caplin finished things off with a 6-0, 6-1 victory to seal the deal.

The win was the team's third shutout of the season, the most since the Black and Gold blanked seven opponents in the 2016-17 season. The Bulldogs have defeated the Comets 9-0 in all four meetings since Olivet reinstated men's tennis for the 2015-16 season.

Adrian finishes the regular season out on Wednesday, April 17 when Calvin comes to town. First serve with the Knights is scheduled for 4 p.m.
