GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Adrian College women's tennis team lost 9-0 to Calvin College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play on Tuesday, April 16.
Calvin swept the top two doubles flights, with Adrian putting up more of a fight at the three spot, where juniors Makayla Jorgensen and Elena Bishop fell 8-3.
The Knights then made quick work of singles play, save for Jorgensen at the four spot. She took the first set in a tiebreaker before losing the second set, forcing the third set tiebreaker. Even that went down to the wire, with Jorgensen ultimately falling, 6-7(6), 6-1, 10-8.
Adrian has a week off before its next match, when the Bulldogs hit the road to take on Hope on Wednesday, April 24. First serve with the Flying Dutch scheduled for 4 p.m.
