Bulldogs End Regular Season with Loss to Knights

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's tennis team ended it's regular season with a 7-2 loss to Calvin College on Wednesday, April 17. Adrian ends conference play with a 4-3 record and awaits to see if it will make the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament scheduled for the first weekend in May.

Calvin took all three doubles matches, with Adrian making the Knights earn it at the two spot. Sophomore Ronald Ducharme and junior Kyle Haines pushed the middle match to a tiebreaker, ultimately falling, 8-7(5).

The Bulldogs picked up their two points in singles play, specifically at the two and six spot. Junior Tanner Wilcox picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win in the second flight while sophomore Jovanni Wagner-Payne grinded out a three-set win at the six spot. Not only did the match go three sets, but the third set also needed a tiebreaker, with Wagner-Payne winning 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(1).
