Men's Tennis Takes Care of Business at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Adrian College men's tennis team got back to winning ways and improved to 2-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play this season with a 7-2 victory over Albion College on Tuesday, April 9.

Adrian started the match strong, winning all three doubles matches to put itself firmly in fron of the match. The junior tandem of Nathan Waterbury and Tanner Wilcox picked up an 8-5 win at the top flight, and junior Nolan Duda and freshman Cameron Rafinski won 8-2 at the three spot. AC sent out Ronald Ducharme and Jovanni Wagner-Payne out at the two spot and the sophomores picked up an 8-4 win in their first match together as partners this year.

Wagner-Payne picked up the Bulldogs' first point in singles play with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win at the five spot and Wilcox secured the fifth point to clinch the match for the Black and Gold with a 6-1, 6-1 win at two singles. Rafinski won at the four spot, 6-4, 6-3, and Duda picked up Adrian's final point of the afternoon with a 5-7, 6-0, 10-7 win at the six spot.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, April 10 when Alma comes to town. The match will be played with the women's teams as well, and both will start at 3 p.m.
