Box Score 2 UTICA, NY -- The Adrian College men's volleyball team fell to SUNY Poly and St. John Fisher in day one of the SUNY Poly Wildcat Invite. After winning set one, the Bulldogs dropped the next three sets against SUNY Poly to lose 3-1. In match two, Adrian trailed 2-0 when they won set three, but lost set four to finish the day with two losses.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Adrian vs. SUNY Poly
Led by Wildcat attack errors and three kills from Noah Marcinkowski, the Bulldogs jumped out to 9-2 lead in the first set. SUNY Poly battled back and cut into the Bulldog lead to make it a four-point set. Mason Hostetler had back-to-back aces to put the team up seven. With a 24-19 lead, Hostetler slammed a kill to take set one.
The Bulldogs led 10-9 to start set two, but SUNY Poly responded with a 5-0 run to take a 14-10 lead. Adrian tied the set at 14-14, but the Wildcats came back to grab a four-point lead and eventually took set two.
Adrian went down 4-0 to start the third set but battled back and tied the set 8-8. The Wildcats jumped on a 4-1 run to take their largest lead of the night at 20-14. The Bulldogs scored late on two service errors by SUNY Poly, but the Wildcats took set three to lead 2-1 in the match.
After trailing 13-12 in set four, the Bulldogs allowed SUNY Poly to grab a lead of four to pull ahead in set four. Adrian fought back and brought the deficit to one, but the Wildcats came away with the set to win 3-1.
Adrian vs. St. John Fisher
The Bulldogs faced the RV St. John Fisher Cardinals in match two at the Wildcat Invite. Adrian dropped the first two sets 25-17 and 25-19. The team battled back in set three to come away with a set victory. After trailing 5-3, the Bulldogs went on a 13-2 run. During the run Tedrick Gula and Joseph Campana each had four kills. Adrian led 16-7 in the third set when the Cardinals made it a three-point set. With a 21-18 lead, the Bulldogs scored on an attack error and finished the set with two kills from Marcinkowski and a kill from Hostetler to win 25-20.
The Bulldogs fell in set four 25-17 and lost the match 3-1. In match two Marcinkowski, Gula, and Campana finished with nine kills each.
