Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. – The Adrian College softball team played a doubleheader on day two of its trip to Florida. The Bulldogs lost their first game of the season to Bridgewater 6-5, but bounced back with a 10-5 win over Berea.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Adrian took an early lead against Bridgewater in game one as they jumped up 3-0 in the third inning. The Bulldogs scored one in the first on a hit by pitch with the bases loaded. In the third, Alaina Macksoud doubled in two runs to lead 3-0. Bridgewater responded with a pair of runs in the fourth, scoring on two bases loaded walks.
Adrian extended its lead to 5-2 in the sixth inning after Macksoud walked with the bases loaded and Katie Connolly singled in a run. The Bulldogs let their guard down in the bottom half of the sixth as Bridgewater scored on an RBI single, two RBI double and a passed ball. Adrian lost game one 6-5.
The Bulldogs responded in game two with a 10-5 win over Berea. Adrian scored in every inning they had at bats in. After trailing 1-0 heading into the bottom half of the first inning, Adrian responded with a run to tie the game. The Bulldogs added three runs in the second inning to take the lead which was followed up with a run in the third, and three runs in the fourth.
Berea woke up the bats at the top of the order by scoring two runs in the fifth and sixth inning to trail 9-5 heading into the bottom of the sixth. Adrian added an insurance run in the sixth to win the game.
Connolly led the Bulldogs in game two by going 3-for-5 with a run scored. Loren Vail recorded the game two win throwing five innings allowing three earned runs on four hits.

The Bulldogs return to action with a doubleheader against Alvernia and Fontbonne tomorrow at 10:00 AM and 12:15 PM in Clermont, Florida.
