ORLANDO, Fla. – The Adrian College women's tennis team kicked its spring season off with a win. The Bulldogs defeated Alvernia 6-3 in Orlando, Florida.
The Bulldogs won two of the doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Samantha Cyrus and Bethany Posey defeated Alvernia's top pair. Elena Bishop and Makayla Jorgensen picked up a win at NO. 2 doubles, but Elizabeth Himebauch and Sara Anthony fell in No. 3 doubles.
Adrian took four of six singles matches against Alvernia. Anthony won 6-4 and 6-3 at No. 2 singles while Posey picked up a win at No. 3 with a 6-4 and 12-10 win. Jorgenson and Bishop also picked up wins with Jorgensen winning 6-2 and 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Bishop winning 6-1 and 10-8 at No. 6 singles.

Adrian will resume action on Tuesday, March 3 with a match against Findlay at 9:30 AM and a match against Houghton at 7:00 PM.
