Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - The second half of conference action for the Adrian women's soccer team got off to a rocky start on Tuesday evening.
The visiting Thunder rattled off three first-half goals in a span of four minutes en route to a decisive 4-0 victory over the Bulldogs, marking the first in-league loss for the black and gold.
Adrian held the advantage in total shots, but the visiting defense was always right on the local's back, contesting everything the 'Dogs threw at Trine goalkeeper Sophie Aschemeier.
All told, the Bulldogs produced a season-high 20 shots, the most in a single-game since September 1, 2019.
Senior,
McKenna Mahoney mustered nine shots to pace the home side's offense, becoming just the eleventh player in the program history to tally at least nine shots in a single contest.
Junior,
Kaitlyn Dake added three shots, while
Eve Davis,
Megan Louwers and
Hailey Stowe contributed two each for Adrian.
Prior to the game, Mahoney, Louwers,
Alexandria Dryps,
Kassidy Miller and
Bridget Paulon were each recognized for their outstanding careers and contributions to the Adrian women's soccer program.
The Bulldogs' (9-6, 4-1 MIAA) next task is the season's final road trip, beginning Saturday afternoon at Hope.
