Dake Scores Twice as Women's Soccer Pushes Past Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. - On Saturday afternoon, Kaitlyn Dake and McKenna Mahoney continued their respective scoring streaks to help propel the Adrian women's soccer team past Olivet 3-1. With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 4-0 in conference play, and have won each of their first four MIAA matches for the third consecutive season, not counting the condescend 2020 campaign.

Dake, who had recently scored the first goal of her career against Alma last week, struck for two for the black and gold, including the game's opening tally in the ninth minute off of an assist from Eve Davis.

Then, in the 24th minute, the Bulldogs' leading scorer in Mahoney extended her goal-scoring streak to eight games, pushing her to the head of the pack in the MIAA in both goals scored and total points with 12 and 28, respectively.

Davis, once again, chipped in the assist on the afternoon's second score, bringing her conference-leading total to nine.

An insurance goal from Dake less than four minutes later would ultimately solidify the deal for the locals, who have now outscored their league foes 10-3.

All told, Adrian produced 19 total shots, including 15 on goal.

Mahoney and Dake were responsible for four shots each, while Kelsey Zoli contributed three shots on goal.

Taylor Fischer turned in another solid effort between the posts for the Bulldogs, making three saves on four shots to bump her MIAA-leading save total to 71.

In this match it was important for us to not only get the three points, but also to rest some of our players ahead of Tuesday's match against a very strong Trine team," said head coach Ali Alamdari." With a 3-0 halftime lead, we were able to accomplish both goals and turn our attention to an extremely challenging second half of the MIAA schedule starting next week."

Adrian (9-5, 4-0 MIAA), who actively holds the top spot in the conference standings, hosts the Thunder for Senior Day on Tuesday, October 12. Trine will enter the contest with an 11-1-1 record after suffering its first defeat of the season at the hands of Hope on Saturday.
