NCAA Men's Hockey Tasked with Competitive Week Beginning on Wednesday

ADRIAN, Mich. – A jam packed week for the No 3 Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team as the Bulldogs will have a full slate of three games during the holiday break. The week will kick off on Wednesday with a game against the USA U18 National Team Development Program (NTDP) followed by a road series in Connecticut where Adrian will take on RV Wesleyan University and No. 10 Trinity College.

Wednesday's game will mark the second time this season that the Bulldogs will face the USA U18 NTDP on the road in Plymouth, Mich. Adrian dropped the first contest by a score of 4-3 after a third period battle where the Bulldogs scored two of their goals. Sam Ruffin led the team with a two-point night as he recorded a goal and an assist. Zachary Heintz and Rex Moe record the other two goals while Hunter Wendt contributed an assist.

Cameron Gray took the loss in the exhibition where he allowed four goals while racking up 39 saves.

Saturday will be the first contest in program history where Adrian will face Wesleyan University. Wesleyan had a late start to its season compared to the Bulldogs as they hold a 1-0-1 record heading into Tuesday night where they will face No. 8 Endicott. Wesleyan began the year with a 3-3 tie against Tufts followed by a 5-1 win the next night against Connecticut College.

Sunday will mark the third contest in program history between Adrian and Trinity College with the last meeting happening on January 2, 2018 where the Bulldogs came away with a 4-1 victory. The all-time series started in 2015 where the Bulldogs' title run came to an end in the NCAA Tournament Semifinals.

Trinity College is 2-0 to start the year with a 5-1 win over Connecticut College on the road, and a 6-4 road win over Tufts. They will be tasked with a battle on Saturday night before the Bulldogs come to town where Trinity will take on RV Salve Regina.

The Bulldogs come in to the week with a 5-1 record with their only loss coming to Utica College who now ranks No. 2 in the country. Adrian is outscoring its opponents 23-15 and average 3.8 goals per game. Hunter Wendt, Rex Moe, and Mathew Rehding lead the team with four goals each to start the year. Alessio Luciani sits at the top in assists with six after a four assist weekend. Ty Enns, Ryan Pitoscia, Jacob Breckles, and Sam Ruffin all add four assists to the team.

Cameron Gray is projected to get the start in goal for Adrian as he holds a 3-0 record on the year averaging 2.33 goals allowed per game. He's totaled 68 saves on the year holding a percentage of .907. Nic Tallarico has made a pair of starts in goal for Adrian holding a 1-1 record and allowing 2.44 goals per game with a save percentage of .917.

The week will begin in Plymouth, Michigan at the USA Hockey Arena where Adrian and the USA U18 NTDP will faceoff at 7:00 PM. The Bulldogs will then head to Middletown, Connecticut to face Wesleyan on Saturday, November 27 at 2:00 PM followed on Sunday in Hartford, Connecticut against Trinity College at 1:00 PM. Live stats and live streams will be available for all games this week as well as an ACTV radio broadcast on Wednesday night.
