ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's wrestling team opens its week tonight at home in a dual against Defiance College. The team's next event with be at the Ohio Northern Invitational on Saturday slated for a 9:00 AM start. In last season's competition between Defiance and Adrian, the Bulldogs finished 12-4 with six wins by fall.

The Bulldogs are coming off back-to-back weeks of MIAA Wrestler of the Week awards. Dylan Wellbaum picked up the award at 197 after the Adrian Duals. Michael Jacobs won at 184 after the Olivet Duals where he finished with a 4-0 record on the weekend. 

The Bulldogs are currently 2-5 on the year in duals after a very competitive schedule. After losing the first five duals, Adrian has bounced back to win two in a row that was highlighted by a 30-10 win over No. 22 Mount Union.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs will travel to Ada, Ohio for the Ohio Northern Invitational. Adrian will compete in the 16-team open that includes MIAA opponents Alma College, Olivet College, and Trine University. In the last open the team wrestled in, the Bulldogs placed second out of 15 teams with 143.5 points with 18 pins and five tech falls.

Wrestling on Tuesday night will be stream via Adrian College TV and will begin in the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center at 7:00 PM. Saturday will have results available through Track Wrestling and will begin at 9:00 AM.
