ADRIAN – The Adrian College men's wrestling team will wrap up first semester with the Kalahari Duals this weekend in Sandusky, Ohio. The Bulldogs will have four duals on Saturday going up against Otterbein University, Heidelberg University, Baldwin Wallace University, and Mount St. Joseph University.
The Bulldogs come in with a dual record of 4-5 and have won its last four duals. Adrian defeated #22 Mount Union 30-10 followed back a 48-0 shutout over St. Clair County Community College. The Bulldogs then shutout Defiance 56-0 setting a new school record, and then defeated Siena Heights University 46-3.
In the two opens that Adrian wrestled in this season, they finished second out of 15 teams at the Adrian Invite and went on to place third at the Ohio Northern Invitational out of 16 teams.
Otterbein is struggling to start the season with an 0-5 dual record. However, the Cardinals showed well at the Albion Invitational with a second place finish out of 12 teams and a fourth place finish out of 16 teams.
Heidelberg is 1-1 on the season in duals and finished sixth at the Ohio Northern Invitational and third at the Adrian Invite. The Student Princes finished with three top-3 placers at Ohio Northern and four top-3 placers at the Adrian Invite.
Baldwin Wallace comes in ranked fifth in the country according to the NWCA Coaches Poll. On the season they are 2-0 in duals with a pair of blowouts over Mount Union and Otterbein. They began the year with a fourth place finish at the Ithaca Invitational followed by a first place finish at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational and the North Central Invitational.
Lastly, Mount St. Joseph comes in with a 2-2 dual record with wins over University of Rio Grande 44-9 and Ancilla College 58-0. They struggled at the Ohio Northern Invitational with an 11
th place finish out of 16 teams with only 44 team points.

Michael Jacobs will lead Adrian throughout the weekend. Wellbaum and Jacobs have been featured in the d3wrestle.com rankings where they are listed as honorable mention and contenders.
Zachary Platte has wrestled well this season at 141 for the Bulldogs along with
Zach Altman at 165 and
Derrick Top at 174.
Wrestling will take place at the Kalahari Resorts and Convention Center in Sandusky, Ohio. The Bulldogs will begin the day at 9:00 AM against Otterbein University.
