ADRIAN, Mich. - Conference play is right around the corner for the Adrian women's soccer team. However, there are still two non-conference contests to be completed before the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) opener on September 28.

The Bulldogs wrap up their out-of-league action beginning on Wednesday evening against Baldwin Wallace before closing out the week at the College of Wooster on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (3-4), out of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), have won three of their last four matches after opening the 2021 campaign 0-3. Both of their most recent victories have come by means of shutouts, including 4-0 wins over both Hiram and Waynesburg.

Sydney Rice actively leads Baldwin Wallace with three goals on 11 shots on goal. All three tallies for the sophomore have come over the last two matches for the Yellow Jackets.

Brandi Filippi and Michelina Rush have two goals each for Baldwin Wallace.

In net, freshman, Katie Scott has made four starts for the 'Jackets, turning in a 0.829 save percentage behind 29 total saves.

Wednesday's contest will go down under the lights at Docking Stadium at 7 p.m.

Then on Saturday, the black and gold venture to Ohio to challenge the Fighting Scots.

The College of Wooster (3-4), products of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), snapped a two-game skid this past Saturday with a 7-0 rout of Wilmington. The Scots are slated to host Mount Union on Wednesday before welcoming Adrian.

Wooster features three of the top five scores in the NCAC, including Hallie Krzys and Teddi Farson, who have both notched a conference-best five goals so far this season. Then there is Miura Wiley, whose nine points on the stat sheet have come from three goals and three assists.

Respectively, the trio ranks second, third and fifth in the conference in total points.

As for Adrian, the Bulldogs are looking to jump back above 0.500 for the first time since September 5.

McKenna Mahoney has produced a team-high five goals, including two versus Michigan-Dearborn this past Sunday. The senior also leads the team with 23 total shots and nine shots on goal.

Eve Davis (one goal and two assists), Morgan Wands (two goals) and Kelsey Zoli (one goal and two assists) have each posted four points for the locals, combining for 26 total shots.

Megan Louwers and Hailey Stowe have also score one goal each for Adrian, while Alexandria Dryps and Kaitlyn Dake have contributed two assists and one assist, respectively.

Between the posts, Taylor Fischer's 0.811 save percentage ranks fifth in the MIAA. The sophomore has made 43 saves while allowing only 10 goals so far this season.
