ADRIAN, Mich. - At this past weekend's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional in Kalamazoo, Adrian College's Jules Johnson and Elizabeth Himebauch represented the Bulldogs in both singles and doubles competition.

On Friday morning, the Bulldog duo opened with an 8-3 loss before splitting up for their respective singles matches. When the two joined up again later in the day, they earned a solid bounce back effort in the consolation Round of 16, defeating Erin Brezovar and Bailey Higgins 8-5 to send them into Saturday with a little momentum.

The following morning, the pair picked up right as they left off, knocking off Gabriella Heideman and Ashtyn Morris 8-5 in the consolation quarterfinals. Their rebound-run would be cut short, however, in the subsequent semifinal round.

In singles action, Johnson began her stint on Friday morning with a straight-set defeat of Katherine Price; 7-5, 7-5. Then, early on in the afternoon that same day, the 'Dogs' number one in singles was dealt a 6-3, 1-6 (3-10) decision, ultimately ending her time in the singles bracket.

Himebauch faced early adversity on the tournament's first day, dropping a 2-6, 2-6 result in the opening round to place her in the singles consolation bracket. Despite garnering a walk-over into the consolation Round of 16, the junior would fall 7-5, 1-6 (0-10) in the ensuing match to close out her appearance.

Johnson and Himebauch, as well as the rest of their Adrian teammates will be back in action on Tuesday, September 28 when the Bulldog men and women's tennis teams host Concordia Ann Arbor at 4 p.m. at the Craft Tennis Complex.
