ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian women's soccer team had a very good holiday weekend. The Bulldogs posted a come-from-behind win over Rutgers-Camden before upending Rowan in overtime.
This week, the locals wrap up their season-opening road trip in Cleveland, Ohio against Case Western Reserve on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., before debuting at home versus Mount Union on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Three different Bulldogs have scored so far this season, including
Megan Louwers,
McKenna Mahoney and
Morgan Wands. Freshman,
Kelsey Zoli has added an assist to round out the scoring through three matches.
Mahoney currently paces the team in total shots. The senior has produced six, including two on goal.
In net, sophomore,
Taylor Fischer is actively riding a 186-minute shutout streak after holding Rowan scoreless on Sunday night. She has made 13 saves en route to a 0.867 save percentage.
Adrian will look to snap another team's hopes at a spotless season when they take on the Spartans on Wednesday.
Case Western Reserve has won each of its first two games this season by a combined score of 4-2.
Anika Washburn is responsible for two of those goals, while Ella Copich and Christina Hickson have contributed one goal each.
As for Mount Union, the Raiders are also a perfect 2-0 on the season, and will visit Allegheny (Pa.) on Wednesday before making their way to Michigan for the weekend.
Four different Raiders have chipped in goals for Mount Union this season, including Andrea Decker, who has two on six shots.
