ALMA, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's golf team competed in the second MIAA Jamboree of the season on Saturday afternoon. After placing fourth in the opening Jamboree, the Bulldogs had work to do. Adrian went on to place second in Jamboree #2 hosted by Alma College as they finished with a 304.
Hendrik de Koning and
Trevor Benoit led the way for the Bulldogs as they each tied for 11th with a 75.
Joe Renfer and Gabe Gampbell each finished the day with a 77 followed by a 79 from
Joe Kowatch to complete the starting five.
Ryan Van Eyk played as an individual for Adrian bouncing back from the first Jamboree and shooting a 73 to finish tied for fourth.
Hope College won the event with a 293. The Bulldogs still remain in fourth place in the MIAA standings after two Jamborees, but closed the gap on third place Calvin University. Adrian trailed Calvin by nine strokes, but moved the gap to three strokes after Saturday's round.
The Bulldogs will have the advantage on Saturday, October 8 as they host MIAA Jamboree #3 at their home course. Next Saturday's round will begin at 1:00 PM.
