DEFIANCE, Ohio -- The Adrian College men's wrestling team traveled to Defiance College on Tuesday evening to take on the Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs defeated Defiance 56-0 last season to set a program record. Adrian picked up where they left off this season with another shutout with a 54-0 win.

Zachary Phifer won by forfeit to begin the night and give the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead. It took Tyler Davis 57 seconds to pin his opponent which gave Adrian a 12-0 lead. Sam Ross won by major decision at 141 to lead 16-0 before another pin by Zachary Platte. Trent Rector won by decision in a 17-14 battle at 157.

It was smooth sailing for Adrian the rest of the way. Zach Altman pinned his opponent at 165 before Derick Duvall won by tech fall by a score of 16-0. Blake Williams, Dylan Wellbaum, and Kyle Emery each won by fall to finish the final bouts to blowout Defiance 54-0.

The Bulldogs return to action on the road on Saturday, December 3 at 9:00 AM as they head to Ohio Northern for another tournament.
