ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's wrestling team competed against crosstown rival, Siena Heights University on the road on Sunday. After annihilating Defiance College last week, the Bulldogs picked up where they left off and defeated Siena Heights 35-13.
Zach Phifer grabbed an early win with a pin to lead 6-0. Siena Heights tied the match at 133, but
Tanner Smith gave the Bulldogs another six-point lead at 12-6. The Saints won at 149 and 157 to take a 13-12 lead, but it was all Adrian the rest of the way.
Zach Altman won by decision at 165 followed by a 16-1 tech fall win from
Derick Duvall at 174.
Trevin Eggleston won by injury default before
Dylan Wellbaum picked up a pin at 197.
Kyle Emery finished the day with a 10-3 win by decision to close out the 35-13 win.
The Bulldogs will have a week off before traveling to the Kalahari Duals where they will face off against Mount St. Joseph, Loras, Otterbein, and Morehead State on December 17.
