ADRIAN, Mich. - At the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center, the Little Giants of Wabash College got a big boost in singles competition, taking five of the six bouts en route to a 7-2 victory over the homestanding Adrian men's tennis team.
The Bulldogs (4-5) trailed 2-1 after the opening portion of doubles action. The combo of
Ryan Cuddy and
Jackson Wilcox (5-0) remained unblemished on the season to secure Adrian's lone doubles-point, though it took an extra set to do so. Nevertheless, the duo got the black and gold on the board with an 8-7, 7-4 win over Wabash's Elias Courter and Christian Zimmerman.
In the latter segment of the afternoon, the visitors picked up a point from each of their first five singles duals. Then, to close out,
Darren Walter improved to 4-2 overall with a straight-set; 7-5, 5-1 win versus Courter.
The Adrian men are due back in action on March 25 when they host Lourdes University at 3 p.m.
