ANGOLA, Ind. - At the Trine Athletic and Recreation Center, the Bulldog tennis teams ran into a setback in conference-play, dropping both matches to the homestanding Thunder.
In the women's portion of the competition, Adrian (6-7, 1-1 MIAA) was held without a point in doubles, including a tight 8-7 (7-3) decision for
Liv Depies and
Maddison Wagner, but did secure three points in singles.
Elizabeth Himebauch won her fourth bout in-a-row on Saturday afternoon, defeating Trine's Bekah Trent in straight-sets (6-3, 7-5).
Bethany Posey and
Regan Snyder followed up with two-set victories of their own, but it was not enough for the black and gold to overcome a tough start early on.
As for the men (7-6, 2-1 MIAA), a singles' win by
Ryan Cuddy was the point mustered up by Adrian. The junior extended his individual win-streak to four matches after knocking of the Thunder's Jaxon Davis 6-4, 6-2.
The black and gold will look to get back on the winning track this upcoming week when they host Calvin University. The women will hit the courts on Tuesday afternoon, followed by the men on Wednesday.
