TECUMSEH, Mich. – The Adrian College men's golf team hosted a two-day tournament at its new home course of Tecumseh Golf Club on Thursday and Friday. The Bulldogs had two teams play in the tournament with one team finishing fourth out of 13 teams and the other team finishing tenth.
Joe Kowatch led the way for the Adrian "A" team finishing with a two-day total of 152. Kowatch shot a 77 in the opening round followed by a 75 in round two.
Hendrik de Koning finished the tournament with a 155 after a 77 in round one and a 78 in round two.
Trevor Benoit also shot at 155 for Adrian with a 76 on day one and a 79 on day two which was followed by a 156 from
Ryan Van Eyk who shot 79 and 77.
Joe Renfer rounded out the starting five finishing the tournament with 159.
The Adrian "B" team was led by
Brady Renard who finished the tournament with an 81 and a 77 to combine for a 158.
Gabe Campbell finished with a 160 after shooting 77 and 83.
Shane Heiser totaled a 165 during the two days followed by a 175 from
Harrison Hiller.
Christian Long shot a 74 on day one with a hole-in-one.
Adrian played four individuals during the tournament.
Chase Baustert finished with a 173 for the two days with an 89 and an 84.
Connor May shot a 90 on day one and an 85 on day two to total a 175.
Vince Lafata finished with a 181 after a 96 and an 85 while
Chase Spencer finished day one with a 101 and day two with an 88.
The Bulldog "A" team finished fourth with a 616 while the "B" team finished tenth with a 647.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Monday, September 26 at Hope College for the first MIAA Jamboree of the fall season. Monday's tournament will take place at Wuskowhan in West Olive, Mich. at 1:00 PM.
