ALMA, Mich. – The Adrian College men's wrestling team continued MIAA conference play on Thursday night as they traveled to Alma College to take on the Scots. The Bulldogs brought their "A" game as they came away with a 51-0 victory on the road.
Zachary Phifer got the night going with a pin to lead 6-0 at 125. In the first period of the 133 match,
Tyler Davis grabbed another Adrian pin to extend the lead to 12-0.
Tanner Smith won by decision at 141 to lead 15-0.
Zachary Platte went on to win at 149 to add six team points which was followed by a 17-1 win by tech fall from
Trenton DiGenova at 157.
Zach Altman won at 165 by fall to boost the score to 32-0.
Derick Duvall,
Blake Williams, and
Dylan Wellbaum all won in their bouts to lead 47-0.
Kyle Emery finished the day at 285 with a win by decision at 11-3 to close out the 51-0 victory.
Josh Miller,
Trent Rector, and
Preston Calvert all won exhibition matches prior to the MIAA dual.
Adrian will take a week off before returning to action at the CWRU Duals on Saturday, January 21 hosted by Case Western. The Bulldogs will take on St. John Fisher, Penn College, Thiel, and Waynesburg at the event. The first dual is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
