KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Adrian College men's tennis team sent four members to Kalamazoo College for the ITA Central Regionals. Jackson Wilcox and Sean Ruhf competed in the Doubles tournament while Brandon Falk and Kasper Olofsson competed in the Singles tournament.
 
Olofsson led the way for Adrian as he continued to succeed throughout the weekend and advance to the final day of the tournament. Olofsson dropped his opening match by scores of 6-2 and 6-1, but made his way deep into the consolation bracket. Olofsson went on to win in the round of 32 by a pair of 6-4 victories. He went on to win 6-2 and 6-4 in the next round followed by a tie breaking win in the quarterfinals. Olofsson began the quarterfinals with a 6-0 win before losing 6-1, but bounced back to win the tie breaker 10-8 to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinals, Olofsson battled grabbing the first set 7-6, but went on to lose 6-2 and 10-6 in the tie breaker to end his run.
 
Falk opened up the weekend with a first round victory over a conference opponent from Hope College. Falk won both sets of the opening match, 6-4. Unfortunately, Falk's weekend came to an end in the second round where he lost 6-0 and 6-1.
 
Wilcox and Ruhf competed on Friday morning in the Doubles tournament where they struggled and lost 8-0. The duo went on to battle in the consolation bracket but fell short, 8-4, against a duo from Case Western Reserve that was part of the 2023 Division III Men's Tennis National Championship team.
 
The four members of the men's tennis team gained national experience over the weekend which they look to take into their final fall match and spring season. The Bulldogs will wrap up the fall season on Saturday, October 7 at home when they take on Indiana University Southeast at 12:00 PM.
