WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Adrian College men's golf team traveled to Virginia over the weekend for a two-day tournament at Williamsburg National Golf Club. The Bulldogs were successful as they finished fourth out of the 12-team field. Adrian shot a 305 on day one which was followed by a 316 on day two for a two-day total of 621.
Adrian placed three in the top-20 for the tournament including
Trevor Benoit in ninth,
Hendrik de Koning at 14
th, and
Ryan Van Eyk at 17
th. Benoit led the team shooting +7 for the two days with the help of a 74 on Saturday and a 77 on Sunday. de Koning show a pair of 78's to finish +12 for the tournament. Van Eyk finished +13 with a 74 on Saturday and an 83 on Sunday.
Joe Renfer shot +19 for the weekend with a 79 on day one and an 84 on day two.
Gabe Campbell rounded out the starting five on the weekend with an 89 on Saturday and a 78 on Sunday.
Christian Long played as an individual where he shot 80 on day one and 85 on day two.
The Bulldog's next tournament is on the road on April 1-2 at the Bluffton Spring Invite at Hidden Creek Golf Club.
