WEST OLIVE, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's golf team resumed MIAA Automatic Qualifier play on Friday afternoon as they competed in the second round. The Bulldogs placed first after firing a 304 to cut into Hope College's lead. Adrian continues to sit in second place as they trail by eight strokes through two rounds.
Joe Renfer,
Trevor Benoit, and
Joe Kowatch all tied for fourth after shooting 75 on the round.
Hendrik de Koning shot 79 for Adrian while
Ryan Van Eyk shot 81.
Trine University finished round two in second at 308 followed by Hope College and Calvin University in third each shooting 309. After two rounds of play, Hope holds down the top spot at 599 followed by Adrian in second at 607, Trine in third at 613, and Calvin in fourth at 616.
The final MIAA Automatic Qualifying round will tee off on Saturday, April 22 at 11AM in West Olive. The Bulldogs need to erase an eight-stroke deficit to land the NCAA Automatic Bid.
