NCAA Cancels Round Three of Women's Golf National Championship; Cut Based of Day Two Results

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Adrian College women's golf team completed its trip to Florida for the NCAA Division III National Championship. Adrian competed in three rounds, but after a thunderstorm late in the afternoon on day three, the NCAA cancelled the remainer of round three and was forced to make a cut after day two's results.

The decision to cancel the round was due to a pin placement on the sixth hole that drastically affected the scoring on Thursday before the afternoon weather rolled in. Even though the Bulldogs played all 18 holes, the NCAA made the decision to not count the third round of play.

With the NCAA's decision, the Bulldogs went on to place 23rd in the 29-team field with a total team score of 705. During the two rounds, Olivia Ohmer led the Bulldogs with a two-day total of 173 after shooting 87 and 86. Lauren Reed shot 174 for the Bulldogs after an 83 and a 91 during the two days.

Taylor Ross played in her final tournament as a fifth-year senior where she shot 89 and 88 to combine for a total of 177. Riley Kleck shot 96 and 88 for 184 while Sara Bevington finished 93 and 94 for 187.

Adrian will return in the fall of 2023 looking to make another run at another MIAA Championship.
