ADRIAN, Mich. — The Adrian College men's wrestling team hosted the Alma College Scots on Tuesday evening for a MIAA contest. The Bulldogs improved to 2-0 in conference play after a massive 46-4 win over Alma.
Alma grabbed the first match of the day by major decision to lead 4-0. Adrian was in control the rest of the way winning the remainder of the bouts. Tyler Davis won by fall at 133 followed by a 17-1 tech fall win from Tanner Smith at 141. Blaise Kokkales and Zachary Platte picked up back-to-back pins at 149 and 157 to extend the lead.
At 165, Trenton DiGenova won in overtime by a 4-1 sudden victory. Blake Williams grabbed a 19-3 tech fall win at 174 followed by a 9-4 win by decision from Dylan Wellbaum at 184.
Jackson Beck-Calvert won by fall at 197 which was backed by another pin from Mason Slocum at 285 to stomp the Scots, 46-4.
Adrian improves to 2-0 in MIAA play and 3-0 on the season in duals. The Bulldogs return to action next weekend at the Whizzer Open on Sunday, February 4 at 10:00 AM in Dearborn, Michigan
