OLIVET, Mich. – The Adrian College track and field team had a busy weekend traveling to Michigan State University on Friday and The University of Olivet on Saturday to compete. There were no team scores at the Michigan State meet, but the Bulldogs finished in second-place as a team on both the men and women's side at the Olivet Meet.
Michigan State Meet:
In extremely windy conditions on Friday,
Michael Wright won the men's 100m dash with a time of 11.71s.
Jaymes Vines started his outdoor season with a sixth-place finish in the men's 400m with a time of 50.14. Also, in the men's 400m,
Grant Clemens finished in seventh with 50.90s time.
Will Houvener took on the men's 5k and ran a personal best time of 14:58 earning him a second-place overall finish at the meet.
Olivet Meet:
The men's 4x100m team of Vines,
Zachary Skinner, Wright, and
Asher Cousino who is currently ranked 3
rd in the MIAA ran a time of 42.47s.
Emme Koutz dominated the 1500m and 800m finishing in first-place in both events.
Alec Grzegorek brought home a first-place finish in the men's 400m and
Michael Wright snagged another first-place finish in the men's 100m.
Bridget Waterstradt won the women's 5k as
Caleb Billings won the men's 5k. Men's 4x400 team of Clemens, Grzegorek, Skinner, and
Weston Kvalevog won the race with a time of 3:22.74 which makes it the 28th fastest time in Division III currently. Multiple Bulldogs ran personal best including:
Isabell Peltier,
Sarah Anastasiadis, and
Sydney Wilkie in the 1500m;
Emma Frost,
Alayna Paeth,
Jordan Whiting and
Will Houvener in the 800m;
Emily Guzdziol and
Meghan Vidra in the 400m Hurdles;
Jaymes Vines, Zach Skinner,
Alec Grzegorek, and
Davis Moore in the 200m;
Clarissa Berger and
Keith Scott in Hammer Throw; Josh Trudell in Javelin;
Joel Likens in Discus and Shot Put. The men's and women's team finished in second-place on both sides.
