GRAND RAPIDS. Mich. – The Adrian College track and field team traveled to Calvin University on Friday and Saturday for the 2024 Outdoor MIAA Championships. The Bulldogs racked up new PRs and took home first-place finishes as the men placed six out of seven teams and the women placed seven out of seven teams.
In the men's 10,000m run
Will Houvener took third-place with a 35:40.68s time.
Cameron Overmyer stays perfect in the MIAA as he wins the men's pole vault with a jump of 4.75m.
Ethan DeBerry records a PR as well as taking second-place with a 4.15m jump.
The 4x100m relay team of
Jaymes Vines,
Grant Clemens,
Asher Cousino, and
Michael Wright placed fourth with a time of 41.89s.
Michael Wright ran a 10.63s 100m dash and placed second for the Bulldogs. In the men's 200m, Wright placed third with a time of 21.32s.
In the women's 800m
Emme Koutz brings home another first-place finish with a time of 2:14.74. While in the men's 800m
Alec Grzegorek placed fifth with a time of 1:58.99.
Weston Kvalevog recorded a PR in the men's 400m hurdles as well as taking fourth with a time of 57.22s. Kvalevog also recorded a sixth-place finish in the men's javelin throw with a throw of 42.60m. He also took third in the men's high jump with a 1.91m jump.
The women's 4x400m relay team of
Emme Koutz,
Ciara Heslet,
Olivia Dunscombe, and
Abigail Raftis placed fifth with a time of 4:11.62.
On the men's side of the 4x400m relay Clemens, Vines, Grzegorek, and Kvalevog placed fourth with a time of 3:21.50.
Amanda Mathews placed eighth in the women's triple jump with a jump of 9.64m.
Keith Scott in the men's discus throw set a new PR and brought home a first-place finish with a throw of 44.96m.
Ciara Heslet wins the women's high jump and set a new PR with a jump of 1.66m as
Cailey Beaudoin took third with a jump of 1.60m.
Adrian will travel to Baldwin Wallace on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 for their next meet!
