ALMA, MICH. – The Adrian College men's wrestling team traveled to Alma College for their first MIAA dual of the season where the Bulldogs took care of business, winning 32-16 against the Scots.
Senior
Adrian Rosas set the tone for the Bulldogs in the 125-pound weight class with a hard-fought 4-2 decision, giving Adrian an early 3-0 lead. Senior Zach Phifer followed up in dominant fashion at 133 pounds, earning a technical fall victory with a commanding 16-1 score. Senior Mack Baird kept the momentum rolling in the 133 division, securing a pinfall win to extend Adrian's advantage to 14-0.
In the 149-pound weight class, senior
Sampson Ross continued the Bulldogs' dominance with a tech fall victory, further energizing the team. Junior
Aiden Smith added to the lead with a win by forfeit.
Senior Zach Platte showcased grit in the 165-pound division, edging out his opponent with a thrilling 8-7 decision. Sophomore
Connor Williams delivered a strong performance at 174 pounds, winning by major decision.
