ANGOLA, IND. – The Adrian track and field team kicked of the new year by heading to the Sean Brady Alumni Invite, highlighted by senior Will Houvener breaking the 3k record.
The Adrian College track and field teams delivered standout performances across the board in their latest competition.
On the men's side, senior Will Houvener secured a third-place finish in the 3,000m run with a solid time of 8:47.42. Freshman Joseph Sheridan impressed with a first-place victory in the 60m hurdles, clocking in at 8.70 seconds, and added a fourth-place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 23.90 seconds. Senior Alec Grzegorek dominated the 600m run, claiming first place with a swift time of 1:26.71. In field events, freshman Cam'ron Dew soared to first place in the high jump with a mark of 1.90m. Senior Cameron Overmyer excelled in the pole vault, capturing first place with a height of 4.25m, while junior Ethan Deberry earned third place with a 3.95m vault.
On the women's side, freshman Alysia Townsend shined with a second-place finish in the 400m dash at 1:03.85 and took first in the high jump with a 1.57m mark. The women's 4x400m relay team battled to a fifth-place finish, posting a time of 4:58.11. Junior Alayna Paeth also contributed with a fifth-place performance in the pole vault, clearing 2.60m.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, January 25 where the squad will head to the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic.
