MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Adrian College cornhole team opens up at the ACL Collegiate Cornhole Championships this weekend in South Carolina. Eight Bulldogs have qualified to compete in the event after winning qualifiers earlier in the year.
Thursday, January 2 starts the Doubles Bracket and the 4x4 Team Event Bracket. Adrian has two teams in the 4x4 Event with team one consisting of
Morgan Blonde,
Alex Weaver,
Abigail Trepkowski, and Gage McMillian while team two consists of
Jackson Newman,
Brady Tanner, Abbie Sawicki, and
Juan Alvarez.
Friday will hold the Singles Bracket in which all eight Bulldogs will compete individually. The events are streamed on ESPN+ on Thursday and ESPN2 on Friday for the final eight teams/individuals each day.
In Adrian's first season at the ACL Collegiate Cornhole Championships, the Bulldogs landed two duos on the ESPN broadcast with one duo being named a semifinalist. Last season, Blonde and Weaver came up one win shy of making the national broadcast.
